Bold Beyond Boundaries

Attendees at the 2019 HNDC Leadership Banquet had the honor of listening to a keynote address and a quick Q&A with brothers Longka (Michael) and Longkue (Steven) Lor from the world-renowned dance team, Kinjaz. Also known as M-Pact and VillN, and together as the Twinjaz, the professional breakdancers shared stories about their upbringing, their inspiration to start dancing, and accounts of their travels and experiences at global competitions and events.

Impact Awards Acceptance Speeches

At every Hmong National Development conference, HND recognizes the outstanding achievements of prominent individuals in the Hmong community. The individuals are nominated by peers based on how they demonstrate IMPACT: Innovation, Mentorship, Proven integrity, Advocacy, Culture, and Transcending Barriers. Of the 10 nominees who are selected and voted on, five are chosen and presented with awards.

About the Conference

The Hmong National Development Conference (HNDC) is the Hmong community’s largest event and one that unites over 1,000 professionals, students, and community leaders who gather to share valuable insights and powerful new approaches to community empowerment, professional development, and leadership. The 19th HND Conference will be held on April 19-21, 2019, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in San Jose, California. The theme of the conference, Be Bold – Unleash Your Potential!, was selected to encourage the next generation of business and community leaders to boldly step forward in pursuit of their goals, while modeling the culture of resilience and integrity that is the hallmark of Hmong Americans.
