  1. The Southeast Asia Resource Action Center (SEARAC) is pleased to announce its Eleventh Annual Southeast Asian American Leadership & Advocacy Training.  Unlike trainings in the past, this year, SEARAC will be convening in three strategic locations across the country: (1) Sacramento, California: July 11 – 13, 2009 at the Doubletree Hotel; (2) St. Paul, Minnesota on: August 1 – 3, 2009 at the Rondo Community Outreach Library; and (3) Lowell, Massachusetts on August 22 – 24, 2009 at the Doubletree Hotel.  The trainings will provide a forum where Southeast Asian American community leaders will participate in four days of activities that include advocacy education, leadership strategizing, collaborative networking, and relationship building with decision makers on issues that are specific to the Southeast Asian community.
  2. The National Coalition for Asian Pacific American Community Development announces their 10th Annual Convention.  National CAPACD will be holding its 10th Annual Convention in Washington, DC from Wednesday, June 3 through Friday, June 5, 2009 at the Liaison Hotel on Capitol Hill.
  3. The Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance will host their annual convention in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Generations United, Organizing for Change promises to provide all participants with a renewed sense of optimism for workers and students alike.  This convention will be held July 9-12, 2009.
  4. The Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum announces this year’s national conference entitled “Voices:  Amplifying the Call for Healthy Communities.” Voices 2009 will take place in Washington, DC from June 1-2, 2009.

 HND is committed to building the capacity of the next generation of leaders. Through internship opportunities, HND provides students with hands-on experience working in a national non-profit organization. Additionally, interns gain experience working with other local and national organizations and leaders on issues that impact the Hmong. HND offers internships in our DC office throughout the year.
